We have lots of exciting, fun classes and great teachers to help you learn new techniques.
Class Policies:
Payment in full is required at the time of enrollment. Feel free to call to sign up…we will just take your credit card info over the phone. 864-962-5353

A class supply list will be given to you when you enroll and you can take advantage of 10% off fabric and all notions purchased at the time of enrollment or during the class.
If you are unable to attend a class for any reason, please notify us within 3 working days to transfer your class fee to another class or we will gladly issue a store credit. We cannot transfer class credits more than one time. This will enable us to contact someone that may be on a waiting list for this class. We are sorry, but cancellations made after the 3 working day policy will not be eligible for store credit or transfer. Refunds will not be given unless the class is canceled; in this case you will be notified at the number you gave us when you signed up. No-shows will not be eligible for re-scheduling or store credit.
If your class is several hours long, one you may want to bring a snack and a drink to get you through. We have a refrigerator & microwave if you need.

$8 Block of The Month
You pay for the initial block and if you complete it by the next class meeting the next block is FREE. This quilt is based on the American Beauty Quilt. Class starts from 8:30am to 9:30am must be here on time and for the duration of the class to get your block FREE. Saturday class is May 5, from 8:30-9:30am. Monday class is 25 from 1:30 -2:30pm
A- Line Dress and Jon Jon
Want to learn how to make this classic dress for you special little one. You will learn how to make this reversible dress or reversible Jon Jon. Learn how to make a buttonhole and sew on the button. $10 + Supplies. May 15 6-8pm and May 18 from 10-12pm
American Sewing Guild
The Upstate South Carolina Chapter of American Sewing Guild is excited to announce a new Neighborhood Group meeting at Marietta’s Quilt & Sew. The next meeting is Thursday, May 10, from 10:00-12:00pm and will meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month thereafter.
Beginning Quilting Class
This is a 5 week class. You will learn basic quilting techniques and the foundation needed to create beautiful quilts. At the completion of class, you will have completed five squares: The Nine Patch, Rail fence, Flying Geese, Log Cabin and the Friendship Star. $65.00 + supplies. See calendar for class times.
Bo Babe Dress
She will be the hit this spring and summer in this adorable bubble hem dress with a bow. This fully lined dress with a choice of coordinating or matching bows and trim is very simple to sew. $10.00 + Supplies. May 23 6-8pm
Britches & Bloomers
Multi-size pattern fits newborn – 4 yrs. Adorable elastic waist pants for boys or girls! No side seams. Bloomers have a hip pocket and ruffled hem. Britches have a cargo pocket and cuffed hem. Great for using adorable cotton prints. Very easy to sew. Two part class $35.00 + Supplies
Designer’s Gallery Software
Want to learn more about embroidery software? Bring your laptop and come and learn more about Designers Gallery and how it can you organize your embroidery files/ If you don’t have a laptop, don’t worry, we will use a projector so you can view the presentation on a TV monitor. Bring paper and pen to take notes. $10.00.
Dresden Plate
The popular name for this quilt, Dresden Plate, reflects the romance of the Victorian Era with it’s love of elaborate decoration on household items and decor. Nancy Zieman makes it easy with a template. $20 + Supplies
Ellisimo Training
Learn more about your machine. Let Margie show you some expert tips and tricks. Free to anyone with an Ellisimo or Ellegante machine. May 3, 10-12pm or May 5, 11-1pm. Kit Fee: $10.00
Embroidery Class
You will learn how to embroider a cut-a-way design on a pillow case. This Southern Belle design is so cute and will dress up any bed. Great gift to give to that true Southern Belle in your life. $30 and everything is included. Just bring your embroidery machine and an assortment of embroidery threads.
Esante, Ellageo & Ellegante Training
Learn more about your machine. Free to anyone with an Esante, Ellageo or Ellegante machine. May 4 from 10-12pm or May 9 from 6-8pm. Cost: Kitee Fee $10.00
Four Sided Place-mats
This is a great idea, why did I not think of this one. Make a place-mat that has four sides. Four place-mats in one. Easy to learn, great for beginners. $15.00 + supplies.
Frannie
Frannie is a fully lined swing sundress that can be worn as a jumper in cooler weather. Frannie is sleeveless that buttons with one button in the back. The extra fullness at underarm is pulled up with ties and ribbons in a casing for an easy adjustable fit. You’ll sew a keynote center back neck opening. Also, you’ll encase self-made ties, ribbon or elastic through button holes under arms for easy adjustable fit. Zips & Buttons and Basic Sewing classes are required before taking this class. This two-hour class for $10.00 + supplies will be taught by Jerene. The matching panty is from the Too Cute To Boot Diaper Cover pattern and is not included in this class.
Hunter’s Star
Looks complicated but it is no with the the Rapid Fire Template and easy to follow instructions from Stephanie. Once you learn the technique, you can create a table runner, wall hanging or bedspread. If you can imagine it, you can create it. Class coming soon.
Kaleidoscope Symphony BOM
Remember looking through a Kaleidoscope when you were a kid and marveling and all the beautiful colors. Now imagine that feeling using fabric. The Kaleidoscope technique uses a 4 patch block which is placed into a variety of larger blocks. It adds another dimension to your quilt and makes it come alive. This quilt is designed as a BOM. The fabric featured is Gardens of Enchantment by Maywood Studio. The total cost is $150.00. Includes: Book, instructions for mitered corners and fabric for quilt top. There will be a weekday class and a weekend class. Choose the class that best fits your schedule. May 9 from 10-12pm for weekday session and May 5 from 2-4pm for weekend session.
Kid’s Sewing I
This is designed for Kids to learn how to sew by teaching them how to thread their machine, wind a bobbin. They will make 3 different projects. Cost $50.00 and $12.00 kit fee. May 18, 25 and June 1. Three part class
Let Freedom Ring
The response to the Waving Flag was so great, we decided to keep going with the patriotic theme. Let Freedom Ring is part of the American Valor Collection, a collaborative effort between Quilts of Valor Foundation and fabric companies. Each company designed a patriotic collection suitable for use in making a Quilt of Valor to be awarded to a US service member touched by war. This Quilt will make you proud. 2 part class. $20.00 + supplies
Lined Yoke Jumper
This stylish jumper will delight ages 3 to 12 years. You’ll learn how to line a garment, make buttonholes and attach buttons. The lining and garment are hemmed separately to advance your hemming skills. You can make your own piping from 2″ bias strips or purchase ready-made piping or make this cute jumper without piping. This jumper is ideal for embroidery on the yoke for that finished touch to delight any age. Basic sewing class is required. Intermediate sewer. Jerene will assist you add these skills to your sewing knowledge. This is a 3-2hr class. $35.00
The Lone Star
The Lone Star quilt block is one of the most recognizable quilt patterns. It is also one of the oldest patterns. But this is a pattern known by many names. There are variations of it with 6 points, 8 points (the most common design) or even more. The pattern is created with a large central star, made up of diamond shaped fabric to form the star points from the center out. Often the colors are chosen and placed to form what appear to be concentric circles radiating around the center. This is a fun quilt to make. Intermediate level. Prerequisite: Basic Quilting. $40.00 includes kit and instruction $25.00 without kit. Glen will be your instructor. May 14, 10-2pm also repeated , May 12 and 19 from 2-4pm. Two part class.
Monogram Works
This software has over 40 fonts including appliqué fonts. Fonts sizes from ¼ inch to 7 inches. Edit each monogram to your liking with italics, mirrored lettering, rotating letters and so much more. This is great software to start out with.
Play-date Outfit
Sew up a perfect play date outfit with this blouse and capri pants ensemble. Your little sweetie will enjoy playing in this cute outfit as well as making a fashion statement. The capri pants are flat-fitted in the front with an 1″ elastic band in the back for comfort. June 8, 15 from 10-1pm. Two part class. $30.00
Pillows & More Pillows
Want to learn how to create some expensive looking pillows?? Sign up soon for Dionne’s pillow making class. Learn how to put in a zipper, cording and ruffles. What a treat – you will learn it all in this class. You will make two pillows. Two part class$15.00 + supplies.
Polka-dots & Summer
Perfect for any little girl, this simple, classic dress is wonderful for beginning sewers (after basic sewing classes) & seasoned sewers alike. You’ll learn to form these beautiful box pleats and add contrasting bands on bottom of dress. You’ll discover how to make your own bias tape to trim & finish the armholes, neck, and the back slash opening. You can perfect your edge stitching and top stitching abilities on this dress. Basic sew classes are required. This will be 4 hour class for $25.00 + Supplies. Jerene will be your instructor.
Quilt Works Workshop
Make unique open motif designs from clip art, scanned images photography or current embroidery designs. This software has over 200 stitch styles and 50 built-in quilting style images. Learn how to make beautiful quilt designs with your computer. $10.00.
Roman Shades
Roman Shades offer clean, classic lines suitable for any taste or decorator style. Roman Shades settle smoothly, evenly and gracefully into soft folds when raised. $25.00 + Supplies.
Ruffle Throw Pillow
Made just for the girly-girl. Layers of ruffles, grosgrain ribbon and coordinating fabric make for a pretty pillow that doesn’t skimp on style. This pillow is layered with ruffles to give it a very feminine feel. What a great way to dress up a room. $10.00 + Supplies.
You may choose long sleeves with ruffled edge and long yoke or short yoke and slightly puffed short sleeves. There are instructions on several ways to trim this basic yoke dress that buttons down the front. You will learn: arranging and cutting out multiple pattern pieces, wrap- around lined yoke, gathering skirt to yoke, collar, set-in sleeves, attaching elastic to form ruffled sleeve, 3” hem, make buttonholes and attach buttons. Jerene will be the instructor. Three 2-hour classes at $35.00 + supplies for the INTERMEDIATE SEWER. May 17, 24, 31 10-12pm
Serger Training – Imagine, Enlighten and other 4 thread machines
Don’t let that serger intimidate you. Learn how to thread your serger and do 4 thread and rolled hem. Any make or model is welcome. Kit fee $18.00. May 16 from 10-12pm or May 21, from 6-8pm Kit fee $18.00
Serger Training for Evolution & Evolve
The Cadillac of sergers. There is soooo much you can do with this machine. Come and check it out. $18.00 for kit fee. May 7 from 10-12pm or May 22 from 10-12pm
Simple Purse
This is a great beginner class, if you have some knowledge of your machine. You will learn how to cut out this bag, use fusible interfacing, make handles. Great gift for someone special. ( 2- part class). $10.00 + supplies
Sofia and Ellure Plus Training
This class will focus on learning the intricacies of your machine, both the sewing and embroidery components. Also receive instruction on how to incorporate software with your embroidery. Free to anyone with a Sofia or Ellure machine. May 2 from 6-8pm or May 11 from 10-12pm
Starry Nights
Create a colorful starry night sky using only 2 pattern pieces — squares and half square triangles and fat quarters! Lap, queen and king-size versions are included in the pattern. $35.00 + Supplies
Sunflower Table Runner
Dress up any table with this bright and sunny table runner. It will add interest to any room. May 21 from 10-1pm. $15.00 and includes pattern.
T-Shirt Quilt
All those T-shirts that you will never wear again but hold sentimental value can be into a beautiful quilt. You will make a great gift for the graduating student to the sports buff. They will cherish it forever. You will make a quilt using up to 12 t-shirts. $30.00 plus supplies.
The Tea Party Dress
In the time it takes to prepare for a tea party, you will be able to use your serger to have this sweet dress stitched and ready for its debut. The dress has a lined yoke that is a combination of lace insertion, lace edgings, Swiss embroidered insertion and Swiss beading. The Skirt can be left plain with a hem finish of edging lace or three serger tucks. Rolled hem or cover stitch can be added above the edging lace for that extra embellishing touch. Two silk satin ribbon ties create the back yoke closure and silk satin ribbon weaves through ending in a simple delicate bow at the center front of the dress. $35.00 + Supplies. May 25 from 10-2pm
Too Cute to Boot Diaper Covers
These darling diaper covers are lined and have elastic at the waist and at the legs openings. You’ll learn to do a narrow hem, gather and attach those cute ruffles. Can be made for your favorite little guy using an applique. Pattern comes with a variety of appliques. After the magic of attaching the lining, you’ll stitch casings for elastic at legs & waist. Come learn the magic in this 3-hour daytime class or two-part evening class. Jerene will be the magician. Basic sewing class is prereq. $25.00 + Supplies.
Underground Railroad
The Underground Railroad is a story about how countless slaves made their way out of bondage. It is believed that there were 10 quilt patterns used to direct the slaves to get ready to escape. The quilts were hung for the slaves to “read.” Learn what each block symbolizes as you recreate history . Cost $129.00 total this includes: 12- 2 hr. lessons. all your fabric for 12 blocks and sashing to complete the quilt top. Does not include purchase of book. The groups are forging ahead and enjoying the class. Check to see when your group meets. May 5 from 2-4pm (weekend session). May 3 from 2-4pm (weekday session)
