We have lots of exciting, fun classes and great teachers to help you learn new techniques.
Class Policies:

What do you want to create?
Payment in full is required at the time of enrollment. Feel free to call to sign up…we will just take your credit card info over the phone. 864-962-5353
A class supply list will be given to you when you enroll and you can take advantage of 10% off fabric and all notions purchased at the time of enrollment or during the class.
If you are unable to attend a class for any reason, please notify us within 3 working days to transfer your class fee to another class or we will gladly issue a store credit. We cannot transfer class credits more than one time. This will enable us to contact someone that may be on a waiting list for this class. We are sorry, but cancellations made after the 3 working day policy will not be eligible for store credit or transfer. Refunds will not be given unless the class is canceled; in this case you will be notified at the number you gave us when you signed up. No-shows will not be eligible for re-scheduling or store credit.
If your class is several hours long, one you may want to bring a snack and a drink to get you through. We have a refrigerator & microwave if you need.

$8 Block of The Month
You pay for the initial block and if you complete it by the next class meeting the next block is FREE. This quilt is based on the American Beauty Quilt. Class starts from 8:30am to 9:30am must be here on time and for the duration of the class to get your block FREE. Saturday class is March 3 from 8:30-9:30am. Monday class is March 26 from 1:30 -2:30pm
A- Line Dress and Jon Jon
Want to learn how to make this classic dress for you special little one. You will learn how to make this reversible dress or reversible Jon Jon. Learn how to make a buttonhole and sew on the button. $10 + Supplies. March 5, 6-8pm or March 15 10-12pm
American Sewing Guild
The Upstate South Carolina Chapter of American Sewing Guild is excited to announce a new Neighborhood Group meeting at Marietta’s Quilt & Sew. The next meeting is Thursday, March 8, from 10:00-12:00pm and will meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month thereafter.
Serger – Back to Basics with your Serger
Don’t let that serger intimidate you. Learn how to thread your serger and do 4 thread and rolled hem. Any make or model is welcome. Kit fee $10.00. Feb. 21 from 10-12pm or Feb. 29 from 6-8pm.
This is a 5 week class. You will learn basic quilting techniques and the foundation needed to create beautiful quilts. At the completion of class, you will have completed five squares: The Nine Patch, Rail fence, Flying Geese, Log Cabin and the Friendship Star. $65.00 + supplies. See calendar for class times.
Beginning Quilting II -Afternoon Delight
This Dramatic quilt is delightfully fast and easy. Great follow-up class for those who completed Beginning Quilting. The Flying Geese units are fun and oh so fast. No bias edges, no trimming and no waste! $35.00 + Supplies
Beginning Quilting II – Walk About
Highlight and showcase your favorite large print fabric. Quick and very easy. Uses 5 fabric selections. Another choice for those who have completed Beginning Quilting. $35.00 + supplies
Beverly Tote with Changeable Jacket
WOW! You have not seen a bag like this. Not only is it gorgeous it is also functional. No longer do you need to worry about transferring items from one bag to another. You will make the inside tote and that can be used inside other decorative jackets. This pattern creates endless possibilities. 2 part class. Feb. 16, 23. 10-5pm. $55.00 + kit and supplies.
Bias Skirt/PJ’s
This very easy, bias skirt is constructed with a single pattern piece or you can make pajama pants. Both have a pull on elastic waist. This is a good class to take after you finished the basic sewing class. 6-8pm. March 21, 28. Two part class. $35.00 + supplies.
Bo Babe Dress
She will be the hit this spring and summer in this adorable bubble hem dress with a bow. This fully lined dress with a choice of coordinating or matching bows and trim is very simple to sew. $10.00 + Supplies. Feb. 22, 10-12pm. Also, Feb. 27 6-8pm
Britches & Bloomers
Multi-size pattern fits newborn – 4 yrs. Adorable elastic waist pants for boys or girls! No side seams. Bloomers have a hip pocket and ruffled hem. Britches have a cargo pocket and cuffed hem. Great for using adorable cotton prints. Very easy to sew. March 21 and 28. Two part class 10-1pm. $35.00 + Supplies
Designer Necklines
Dress-up that ordinary T-shirt and make a fashion statement. Easy to use grids help to make a perfect placement each time. Refashion an existing neckline to any of the four neckline types: Peek-A-Boo, Placket, Sweetheart and V-neck.
Designer’s Gallery Software
Want to learn more about embroidery software? Bring your laptop and come and learn more about Designers Gallery and how it can you organize your embroidery files/ If you don’t have a laptop, don’t worry, we will use a projector so you can view the presentation on a TV monitor. Bring paper and pen to take notes. $10.00. Feb 10 12-12pm also, Feb. 28 from 6-8pm
Double Layer Twirl Skirt
Designed with the beginner in mind. This is easy to sew. The double layer super twirly skirt can be made with or without the drawstring detail. $15 +supplies.
Dresden Plate
The popular name for this quilt, Dresden Plate, reflects the romance of the Victorian Era with it’s love of elaborate decoration on household items and decor. Nancy Zieman makes it easy with a template. $20 + Supplies
Ellen Top
This can be made into a sundress, jumper or tunic. The lined yoke features a cross-over front accented with wide contrasting bands. $10.00 + Supplies. Feb. 1 10-12pm. Also Feb. 20 6-8pm
EQ7
Quilt Software EQ7 helps develop your creativity. Combine blocks, borders and virtual fabrics, turning your computer screen into a design wall. Print quilt labels, draw original block designs, even import scanned fabric and photos. And no math needed – EQ7 calculates yardage and all pattern sizes & seam allowances. This month will focus on how to use the special rulers with the program and creating blocks that are not in the program block library. $10.00

Learn more about your machine. Let Margie show you some expert tips and tricks. Free to anyone with an Ellisimo or Ellegante machine. March 1 from 10-12pm. Also March 3, 11-1pm

Florida Tote
Trace ‘n Create Bag designed by Nancy Zieman makes an elegant statement. Using the templates provided, this bag is easy to put together. You will love this roomy bag. $20.00 plus supplies.
Four Sided Place-mats
This is a great idea, why did I not think of this one. Make a place-mat that has four sides. Four place-mats in one. Easy to learn, great for beginners. $15.00 + supplies. Jan. 18 10-2pm
Hidden Nine Patch Quilt
Learn about color gradation. The magic is in how the pieces are put together. $45.00 plus supplies. March 23, March 30. Two part class. 10-2pm
How to Down Load Designs
There are so many beautiful designs on the internet and many are free for you to use. Come and learn how to correctly download these design so that you are able to create wonderfully embroidered items. Feb. 17, 10-12pm$10.00
Jumper Smocking in the Hoop Dress
In this two part class you will create a smocked insert using your embroidery machine. The insert will then be added to the bodice of the jumper. You will also create mini-piping which will be added to the neck and armholes of the jumper. This is not a beginner class. Construction skills are needed. Two part class. March 13, 20 10-3pm $45.00 + Supplies. Must register by March 6.
Kaleidoscope Symphony BOM
Remember looking through a Kaleidoscope when you were a kid and marveling and all the beautiful colors. Now imagine that feeling using fabric. The Kaleidoscope technique uses a 4 patch block which is placed into a variety of larger blocks. It adds another dimension to your quilt and makes it come alive. This quilt is designed as a BOM. The fabric featured is Gardens of Enchantment by Maywood Studio. The total cost is $150.00. Includes: Book, instructions for mitered corners and fabric for quilt top. There will be a weekday class and a weekend class. Choose the class that best fits your schedule. March 16, from 10-12pm for weekday session and March 31, 10-12pm for weekend session.
Kid’s Sewing II
Next in the series of our kids sewing classes. During this 3 week class for the summer, the girls will make the Girly Gored Skirt. Prerequisite: Kids Sewing I. $50.00 plus supplies
Kringle Bell Santa
It was a hit last year so we are doing it again. If you collect Santas, then this a must for your collection. This is an over-sized Santa head with a beard made from batting.Great for the mantel or to decorate any room for the holiday season. $20.00
Let Freedom Ring
The response to the Waving Flag was so great, we decided to keep going with the patriotic theme. Let Freedom Ring is part of the American Valor Collection, a collaborative effort between Quilts of Valor Foundation and fabric companies. Each company designed a patriotic collection suitable for use in making a Quilt of Valor to be awarded to a US service member touched by war. This Quilt will make you proud. 2 part class. $20.00 + supplies
Little Twister Quilt
With the easy to use template, this quilt is a breeze to put together. It is accented with yo-yos and buttons. A good class to take after beginning quilting. $20 + Supplies. Feb 15 from 10-3pm. Also taught as a two part class on, Feb 23 & March 1 from 6-8pm.
Locker Hook Rug
Locker hooking is made using scraps of fabric torn into strips. Inexpensive and fun to make. Few supplies needed. Great way to use up your scraps. The more mixture of colors the better. Looks like the rugs grandma used to make. Great to make coasters and place-mats too. Try it… You’ll be hooked. $20.00 + supplies. April 19, 2-5pm
London Jacket
An unlined, upper hip length jacket with closures. Perfect as a fashion accent or a creative cover over any outfit. Construct with rounded neck or V-neck uniquely trimmed with folded and stitched fabric strips or ruffles. $20.00 + Supplies .
Monogram Wizard
Seminar
Learn the basics of this very popular program. Open to all embroiderers, any make or model of machine. This software includes a variety of fonts and motifs. The update has an improved letter movement feature and you can choose different stitch styles. F. 27, 10-12pm $10.00
Monogram Works
This software has over 40 fonts including appliqué fonts. Fonts sizes from ¼ inch to 7 inches. Edit each monogram to your liking with italics, mirrored lettering, rotating letters and so much more. This is great software to start out with. Feb. 29 10-12pm
Penelope Ruffles Purse
Oh La La! This attention grabbing bag is sure to be a hit. The ruffle designed purse brings out the girlie girl in all of us. This bag is sure to be a show stopper when you walk into a room. $20.00 plus supplies.
Pillows & More Pillows
Want to learn how to create some expensive looking pillows?? Sign up soon for Dionne’s pillow making class. Learn how to put in a zipper, cording and ruffles. What a treat – you will learn it all in this class. You will make two pillows. Two part class$15.00 + supplies. March 22, March 29. Two part class 6-8pm
Quilt Works Workshop
Make unique open motif designs from clip art, scanned images photography or current embroidery designs. This software has over 200 stitch styles and 50 built-in quilting style images. Learn how to make beautiful quilt designs with your computer. $10.00.

Roman Shades offer clean, classic lines suitable for any taste or decorator style. Roman Shades settle smoothly, evenly and gracefully into soft folds when raised. $25.00 + Supplies.
Ruffle Skirt with Applique Tee
Any age girl 12 months to 12 years will love this ruffled skirt to spin & twirl on her very own fashion runway. This is a great beginner class, if you have some knowledge of your machine. You will learn how to cut out this bag, use fusible interfacing, make handles. Great gift for someone special. ( 2- part class). Feb. 6, 13 10-12pm $10.00 + supplies
Sofia and Ellure Plus Training
This class will focus on learning the intricacies of your machine, both the sewing and embroidery components. Also receive instruction on how to incorporate software with your embroidery. Free to anyone with a Sofia or Ellure machine. March 7, from 10-12pm. Also, March 14, from 6-8pm
Stack N Whack
You just cannot believe with Stack N Whack method how much you can change the look of the fabric. How do you do that?? Come to Jeannette’s class and she will show you how. $45.00 + supplies
Starry Nights
Create a colorful starry night sky using only 2 pattern pieces — squares and half square triangles and fat quarters! Lap, queen and king-size versions are included in the pattern. $35.00 + Supplies
T-Shirt Quilt
All those T-shirts that you will never wear again but hold sentimental value can be into a beautiful quilt. You will make a great gift for the graduating student to the sports buff. They will cherish it forever. $30.00 plus supplies.
The Tea Party Dress
In the time it takes to prepare for a tea party, you will be able to use your serger to have this sweet dress stitched and ready for its debut. The dress has a lined yoke that is a combination of lace insertion, lace edgings, Swiss embroidered insertion and Swiss beading. The Skirt can be left plain with a hem finish of edging lace or three serger tucks. Rolled hem or cover stitch can be added above the edging lace for that extra embellishing touch. Two silk satin ribbon ties create the back yoke closure and silk satin ribbon weaves through ending in a simple delicate bow at the center front of the dress. $35.00 + Supplies. March 17, 10-1pm. Tumble Table Runner
Table Runners were designed using updated tumbler shapes that sew together easily. Provided are the template diagrams with specially designed corners that make the shapes align perfectly. 10-2pm, $20.00 + supplie
Underground Railroad
The Underground Railroad is a story about how countless slaves made their way out of bondage. It is believed that there were 10 quilt patterns used to direct the slaves to get ready to escape. The quilts were hung for the slaves to “read.” Learn what each block symbolizes as you recreate history . Cost $129.00 total this includes: 12- 2 hr. lessons. all your fabric for 12 blocks and sashing to complete the quilt top. Does not include purchase of book. The groups are forging ahead and enjoying the class. Check to see when your group meets. March 3, 2-4pm ( weekend session). March 6, 1-3pm (weekday session)
Zippy Convert-Able Purse
You asked for it and here it is. The return of the Convert-Able purse. It easily converts from one outer purse to the next. Make one liner and change the outer bag. Two Part class. $25.00 + supplies. March 22, 29 two part class 10-1pm
